The Story of Colonial Valley Coins & Currency

The Beginning: Harry Garrison's Successful Coin Operation

Harry Garrison became interested in coins in 1976 when Canada issued coins to commemorate the summer Olympics. Harry became a respected numismatist and started Colonial Valley Coins in 1999 after retiring as Vice President of McGraw-Hill companies after 38 years. Harry ran a very successful coin operation until 2012. Harry is an expert in earlier American medallic coins as well as gold coinage from around the world.

Bo Bobjak: A Coin Collector Since Childhood

Harry handed over the coin business to Bohdan (Bo) Bobjak in 2012. Bo started collecting coins when he was 9 years old after buying five Indian Cents at the kiosk in Gimbel's Department store in Philadelphia. Bo was President of several coin clubs and was a vest pocket dealer for many years. Bo ran Colonial Valley Coins until his passing in 2022. Harry and Bo collectively have over 100 years of experience in the numismatic field.

Robert Lanhan: A Legacy of Coin Collecting

Robert Lanhan continues the legacy of Colonial Valley Coins after taking over the business in 2023. Rob was mentored by Bo and Harry for many years to learn the coin business. Rob became interested in coins at 6 years old when his parents gave him a Lincoln cent folder and enrolled him in a coin of the week mailing program in 1967. Rob maintains an interest in classic U.S coins minted during the 19th and 20th centuries. Rob has an interest in Canadian coins and collectable U.S. paper money that he gained from working with Harry and Bo. Rob strives to provide the same high-level customer service as Bo and Harry before him.
